Cool your RV without piecing together parts. This 15,000 Btu system uses R32 refrigerant, works with ducted or non-ducted setups, and includes the rooftop AC, air distribution box, wall thermostat, and start capacitor for more reliable starts.

Notes:
The AC unit includes an air distribution box with a built-in thermostat. The thermostat has an LED digital display that lets you control the mode, fan, and temperature settings. If you add an electric heat strip (sold separately) to remove the chill on cold mornings, then the thermostat also controls the heat setting. Additionally, there are adjustable registers on the front and back of the box. These can be tilted up, down, or side-to-side for directing the air where needed. The removable air filter prevents dust and dirt from building up on the fan blades.
If your campsite or generator isn't able to draw the power you need, then you may have difficulty starting your AC unit. The included start capacitor, however, can eliminate this problem. The capacitor stores energy that will later be used to jumpstart the AC. Once the sufficient amount of power has been supplied to the AC, the compressor will start to run, and the internal relay switch will turn the start capacitor off. At the same time, the compressor will send "back voltage" to the relay switch and capacitor in order to energize them for the next startup.
Because your RV is likely already prepped and pre-wired for an AC unit, installation is simple and easy. Most AC units, including this one, are designed to fit an opening that measures 14-1/4" x 14-1/4". Depending on your roof setup, you may need to do minimal alterations. If the opening is larger than 14-3/8" x 14-3/8", you will need to install spacers between the sides of the unit and the opening's edges. If the opening is smaller than 14-1/8" x 14-1/8", you will need to enlarge the hole to fit the unit snugly inside the opening.
On the bottom of the AC, there's a thick, collapsible gasket with 6 noise-reducing foam pads. This provides support between the RV roof and AC and seals the opening to prevent water and outside air from leaking in. Because of this, the use of fresh sealant isn't required during installation.
To install the start capacitor, bolt it to the fan motor support with the included hardware and then route the wires to the run capacitor.
Once installed, the hard plastic cover on the AC can easily be removed for maintenance and cleaning.
2-Year limited warranty covers defective units when installed correctly on approved applications. The warranty does not cover units installed incorrectly. To ensure air conditioner is installed correctly, please see the questionnaire pdf below. A filled-out questionnaire is required for warranty coverage.
If you are not comfortable using a voltmeter (or removing the charge from the start capacitor), you'll want to make a service appointment with your local RV dealer to verify the installation. Print the pdfs below (warranty- questionnaire, warranty dealer information) and take them along with the RV to your local dealer. ASA does compensate dealers for warranty work as outlined in the dealer information pdf. You may be charged by the dealer for time spent investigating the installation.

Instructions were vague and open to interpretation on some points.
Well I’m giving 5 stars. I called to speak to a person. And Amber C. Was very helpful and helped me order exactly what I needed. It was packaged very well. Arrived in just days. I haven’t installed it yet we are having storms right now. I’m very pleased so far. I can update my review once I install it. Thank you I would post a pic later. At install
Installed today seems like a well put together product. Easy installation and customer was very happy.
Easy install, swap from my factory units. Hardest part is getting this on the roof and the old one down. Well built.
Very noisey but cooling well. Customer service 5 star from William.
Excellent product got it installed in motorhome today and works like it should
good instruction well thought out easy to install, works great and is quieter
than the original Duo Therm
Kevin was extremely helpful! Package was delayed but Kevin was quick with an answer as to why and put me at ease with new eta. Package arrived in good shape just when he said it would. Thanks!! Will be using etrailer again!!
Great service with a little bit of needed hand holding, while I did the job myself!
You’ll need to have a 12DCV connector to enable the thermostat connection with the AC unit and connect the wires. This took us the longest time to figure out since the instructions weren’t clear on that. Otherwise, the AC unit functions well and isn’t too loud. It’s very lightweight.
I replaced the roof vent with this system and the optional heat strip on the front of our fifth wheel. I did have to run a thermostat wire and 12V DC power, but the AC power was pre-wired right next to where the vent was. Just got back from a camping trip and the unit runs well. I only used the heat strip this trip as the high temp was only around 45º. It kept our bedroom nice and toasty and saved a lot of lp. The thermostat is much nicer than other brands. I would have given it five stars if it wasn't quite so loud.
Straight forward and easy install. Air distribution box flange was a little flimsy but seemed to do the job. Needed additional HVAC aluminum seal tape to secure the divider between the return air side but that was a minor thing. Working well now and looking forward to many years of use. Great value over the competition. Will be needing to change my other unit soon so this install is the test for my first Advent A/C. Split shipping was a bummer but it showed up the next day.
Thank you,
Gary
Would have been 5 stars. Installation instructions left a lot of questions. Screws sent to me for internal shroud installation didn't fit the holes provided in the frame. I had to tap the holes myself and use screws I had laying around. Other than those 2 issues installation went smoothly.
Works as advertised
Unit and kit are very nice. The instructions leave a lot to be desired. Minor complaint, but the font is to small and to light. Even with glasses and good lighting. The 120v pass through is not in a good location. And the main harness from the top is very stiff and has to be bent hard to plug in. As a retrofit, it leaves something to be desired.
Great Service and Super fast Delivery!! So far we are extremely happy!
Install was easy. Our biggest trouble was getting the connection from the top unit to the bottom in. It was a tight space to get the plug turned and inserted. Other than that it was a pretty quick job. We did get lazy and not read instruction on operating the thermostat so for anyone one reading, you probably installed it all correct just hold down the power button for the 3-5 seconds for the unit to turn on like the instructions say. We were thinking it was a normal just push the button on and thought we had messed up the install!
Thought the premium could've been from a heavier material so it didn't want to bow but with a little ingenuity I made an 1/8th" thick steel square to butt it up to on in the cabin and it worked out great..otherwise very streamlined and does what it's supposed to do...very nice unit, very well contained inside shroud
This is the correct a/c for a 2004 newmar 5th wheel
Shipping was quick with a great deal of attention to details. Communication was excellent with plenty of support documents and videos.
The reason for just four stars was the wiring instructions for the thermostat could have been written to match how all other thermostats are wired. Trying to get this thermostat to match our factory wiring with the furnace was a challenge. The unit works great but only been installed a couple days we will see how the unit holds up bit happy so far.
It performs well. I do wish it was quieter, but I expected it to be about as loud as it is. I had some issues with the thermostat that I attribute to the 1st heater element being bad. Both were replaced by ASA for free once I demonstrated adequate troubleshooting. A few pictures and knowing how to use a voltmeter went a long way. For the money, it is hard to beat.
Great Customer service. The installation video is spot on and will make install easy. I had a small defect in my cover and was able to get a new one shipped with no problem. Super responsive staff. Highly recommend.
Really cooled it down fast. Only I wish the thermostat was not wired like my other one.
